Abortion

  What is partial birth abortion?

Partial-birth abortion is exactly what the term infers. The baby is partially born before its abortionist-induced termination.
This Dilation and Extraction procedure is called D&X, Intact D&X, and Intrauterine cranial decompression. The public commonly uses the term PBA and Partial-birth Abortions.
The procedure is usually performed during the last trimester of gestation up to the end of the ninth month. The woman's cervix is dilated, and the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps. Then he proceeds to pull the baby into the birth canal. The abortionist then delivers the baby's body, feet first, all but the baby's head. The abortionist inserts a sharp object into the back of the baby's head, removes it, and inserts a vacuum tube through which the brains are sucked out. The head of the baby collapses at this point and allows the aborted baby to be delivered lifelessly.
Is this graphic, grotesque? Yes, it is! Is it painful for the baby? Yes it is! .....

Teen abortion rights - What rights do I have?

Teen abortion rights differ in various locations and countries. We encourage you to study the legal issues involved, as well as the physical risks. The causes of teen pregnancies vary as well. Emotions can run high in cases such as these. The issue becomes even more complex when rape or incest is involved. A female teenager has her entire life in front of her, and may have difficulty raising a child alone.
Legally, teenage women in most countries do have the right to an abortion. However, legality and morality do not consistently overlap each other. There are ethical concerns pertaining to both the mother and her unborn child.
One cannot downplay the challenges the girl will go through if she carries the child to term. Generally, teenage women do not have sufficient time and resources to accommodate themselves and an infant comfortably. But a child is much more than resources and time. There are numerous ramifications, both positive and negative that come along with having a child.
The answer is NOT to abort the child........

God and abortion and forgiveness - Is forgiveness possible?

For many years, I thought, "God will never forgive me for the abortions."
When I was younger, I had three pregnancies terminated. Even though I wasn't very familiar with God at the time, I remember lying on the table, looking up, and asking God to forgive me. I didn't understand what I was doing. For some reason, I felt that abortion was wrong, but I also felt like I had no choice. For a number of years afterwards, I went through many emotional problems and had overwhelming thoughts of suicide. My days were dark, even though I thought that I had put the abortions behind me.
I was supposed to be free, but I wasn't!
I was stuck in my lonely world and no one knew of what I had done except one ex-boyfriend and my mother, who only knew of one of the abortions.
How could I tell anyone about this?
I felt like God couldn't forgive me, let alone love me.

ABORTION:
What Saith the Scriptures?

© 1992 Diane S. Dew
in The Standard

They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters...
and the land was polluted with blood..." (Psalms 106:38)

I.  Life is sacred, and it begins at conception.

    A.  God is the Author of life.
             Genesis 2:7
             Deuteronomy 30:20
             Job 12:10
             Psalms 66:9
             Isaiah 42:5
             Ezekiel 37:10
             Daniel 5:23
             Zechariah 12:1
             Acts 17:25, 28
             Hebrews 12:9

    B. Only God is entitled to determine the end of one's life. The deliberate destruction of human life without cause is sin, punishable by death.

Psalms 31:15 "My times are in thine hand."
1 Corinthians 6:20 "You are not your own, you are bought with a price..."
Exodus 20:13 (cp. Deuteronomy 5:17) "Thou shalt not murder."

II.  Personhood of the Unborn

      A.  Scripture refers to the unborn as children, not "blobs of tissue."

           1.  In Luke 1:36 we read that Elizabeth had "conceived a son." Notice that the "product of conception," as pro-aborts would call "it," is simply called a "baby."

           2.  In Matthew 1:18, 23, Mary is said to be "with child."

           3.  When Rebekah conceived twins, it says, "the children struggled together within her..." (Genesis 25:22)

      B.  The unborn child is a separate being, apart from the mother.

           1.  The unborn child is able to sense such feelings as "joy," etc.
Luke 1:44, 45 Elizabeth's "babe leaped in [her] womb for joy."

           2.  The unborn babe, independent of the mother, made movements ("leaped") – so "it" cannot be reduced to merely a "part of the woman's body" – a necessary step in reducing the issue to that of "a woman's right."

           3.  When Rebekah conceived, "the (twin) children struggled together within her..." (Genesis 25:22) They "struggled," not she. This reinforces the fact that the unborn child is a separate being apart from the mother. (See also Romans 9:10-11.)

       C.  The unborn child is clearly a person, according to Exodus 21:22-25 – and causing it to die is murder, punishable: "life for life.. eye for eye, tooth for tooth."

Exodus 21:22-25 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart [from her], and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges [determine]. And if [any] mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot

         D.  Even some basic personal characteristics of individuals are determined before birth. Of Jacob, whose name means supplanter, we read: "he (implying personhood) took his brother (also implying personhood, based on their biological relationship) by the heel in the womb." (Genesis 25:21-24)

III.  The Plan of God.

When we presume to play God, we interfere with the plan of the Creator.

        A.  God has a plan for each life, established at conception.

             Psalms 139:13-16
             Isaiah 49:1, 5
             Jeremiah 1:5
             Galatians 1:15

        B.  Abortion is the direct interference with that plan and, thus, a direct defiance of God's will. This truth is clearly presented in both the Old and New Testaments.
Jeremiah 1:5 "While you were being formed in the belly of the womb," God told the prophet Jeremiah, "I knew you and ordained (intended for) you to be a prophet to the nations."
Isaiah 49:1, 5 "The Lord hath called me from the womb, from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name... to be his servant, to bring Jacob again unto him..."

We also believe that everyone standing up for the rights

of the unborn  baby should do so in a godly, loving way. We are

against using any forms of violence, or ungodly protests, or

other such actions against abortion clinics, doctors etc. We

believe these actions are completely against how Christ

taught us to live, and interact!

Ruth Harbor

Ruth Harbor is a Christ-centered home for young women who are alone and facing unplanned pregnancies. "Ruth" means compassion; "Harbor" means a place of refuge, safety, retreat, shelter.

Ruth Harbor is a 6-8 resident home located in Des Moines. It provides young women who are alone and facing unplanned pregnancies a truly viable option -- a safe harbor -- by providing housing, education, counseling, health care, parenting training or adoption assistance, spiritual support and more for the duration of their pregnancies.

As the Supreme Court recognized in Roe v. Wade, the government has an 'important and legitimate interest in preserving and protecting the health of the pregnant woman...and has still another important and legitimate interest in protecting the potentiality of human life. These interests are separate and distinct. Each grow in substantiality as the woman approaches term and, at a point during pregnancy, each becomes compelling'.

The End of Abortion

Legalized abortion on demand will end ...someday.

Pro-Life supporters can be encouraged because they stand on the high moral ground. No abomination has withstood time. Eventually, all evil practices subside and the better part of humanity prevails. The vast majority of the American people know in their hearts that abortion is wrong and only need the right amount of motivation to admit it. Recently these pro-abortion folks have been in the uncomfortable position of defending a wiggling, squirming child three-fourths of the way outside of the womb being killed by sucking its brains out. As they have done that, more and more Americans are confronted with the truth behind abortion..........

In the meantime, babies are dying.

  • Reasonable people recognize the real choice. It's a choice between life and death.
  • Compassionate people are grieved by the mass slaughter of millions of babies and will be moved to do something about it.
  • Loving people will reach out to those deceived women to offer hope and will stand in the gap with the babies.
