Holy Spirit

There are many misconceptions on the identity of the Holy Spirit. Some view the Holy Spirit as a mystical force. Others understand the Holy Spirit as the impersonal power God makes available to followers of Christ. What does the Bible say about the identity of the Holy Spirit? Simply put - the Bible says that the Holy Spirit is God. The Bible also tells us that the Holy Spirit is a Person, a Being with a mind, emotions, and a will.........

A common mistake made with regard to the Holy Spirit is referring to the Spirit as "it," which the Bible never does. This is because the Holy Spirit is a person. He has the attributes of personhood, performs the actions of persons, and has personal relationships.

9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit
by David A. Brogdon
The mystery of iniquity is coming to the full in our day. Paul, writing to the Church in Corinth, 1 Corinthians 12:1, says, "Now concerning Spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant." There is much ignorance in the Body of Christ concerning these gifts and there operation. God, throughout this century has been longing for a people to come forward, developed in the gifts, to lift up a standard in the Church, His Body, and the World. Isaiah 59:19 states, "When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him." The outward manifestation of the gift of the Holy Spirit is to produce the Word, Logos, so all might hear and understand and be enlightened by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit came to Guide, Speak, and Teach the Body of Jesus Christ. (John 14:25; 15:13)
The Gift of the Holy Spirit in the Church are an expression of the Divine mind through human channels of the indwelling Holy Spirit. When He came, He announced His coming by causing all who were filled to speak in other tongues, they overflowed with the Word (Logos) of God. Once the Holy Spirit gained entrance and made human beings His temples, He proceeds to teach new depths of revelation and understanding by the gifts of the Spirit. This was the beginning of the prophecy of "raising up a standard" against the flood tide of evil. How else can the Spirit work than through man? God's perfect plan is for the Church to be His Divine instrument to cry "halt" to the devils works. God began to teach His people by the Holy Spirit IN THEM.
When the Holy Spirit fills us, we overflow with the WORD OF GOD. The use of the gifts, however imperfectly they are used, brings a flood of Divine Revelation and the WORD becomes a living WORD. We need to be very careful today to be sure we are being led of the Spirit of God and not evil spirits or our human spirit. The rivers of living waters that flows from our innermost being, the LOGOS, the living WORD of GOD, is powerful and quick and two-edged, flowing ever-increasingly into a needy world.

Holy Spirit: One of Three Persons of God
The Holy Spirit is one of the three persons of God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. For many of us, this is a difficult concept to grasp. The Bible declares that there is only one living God, yet we learn from scripture that He comprises three separate personages. One way to partially visualize this concept is to examine the nature of water (H2O). Water is a single compound that can exist in three states – liquid, ice and vapor. An egg is another picture. It is comprised of the white, the yoke and the shell, yet it is still one egg. Of course, by no means do these examples paint a complete picture of our God, but they are illustrative of the fact that His three “persons” in no way invalidate His oneness.

Holy Spirit: Much More that an Ethereal Life Force
The Holy Spirit is not a vague, ethereal life force. He is not impersonal or unthinking. The Holy Spirit is a “person” equal in every way with God, the Father, and God, the Son. The Bible tells us that all the characteristics of God apparent in the Father and the Son are equally apparent in the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is composed of intellect, emotions and will. In 1 Corinthians 2:11, we see an example of the Holy Spirit’s intellect and will: “For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.”

The Anointing of the Holy Spirit
You have the anointing of God flowing through you when God's heart touches another person's heart through your heart. The anointing of God is the Holy Spirit. He flows as a river of love, from the throne of grace, through the hearts of believers, bringing life to all that receive His touch......
1. The anointing is given to preach the gospel to the poor
2. The anointing is given to heal and restore people
3. The anointing is given to proclaim freedom to the captives
4. The anointing is given to open blind eyes
5. The anointing is given to set people free
6. The anointing flows in God's timing and proclaims God's timing

John 6:63 "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing:
the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."

Jesus taught and preached with a great anointing, because he repeated the things that he heard from the voice of the Spirit. (John 8:28-29) The message of the New Testament is more than just the letter. It is the spirit and life of God himself. (2 Cor. 3:5-8) Teaching and preaching must demonstrate the spirit and power of God. (1 Cor. 2:1-5) Like the apostle Paul, Pastor Roberts has received a mandate from God: "You shall bring revival everywhere you open your mouth!"
