Homosexuality
| Our view on homosexuality: (the writer of this small article is lived in Amsterdam for 17 years and having still gay friends. Let we start at the beginning. The word of God condemns homosexuality, very clear. Here can be no doubt about. There are some groups claiming opposite. If God stats homosexuality as sin, it can be cured (the majority of homosexuals claiming that healing is not possible, because it is not a sickness). Are they right? It looks more a curse to me. Read this article, please (a Christian mother finding out about her son): I pulled off the deserted highway onto a side road and stopped the car. Punching open the car's moon roof, I tilted the seat back and gulped clean, cold air. After a long while, I sighed. Okay, Lord, I give up. What do you want me to do? Switching on the map light, I picked up Tim's letter. This time I heard his pain: "I feel alone. I'm so afraid of my family rejecting me. … You're still my mom, and I still love you. I always will." I had to hear Tim's voice, so I drove back to my apartment and dialed his number. When Tim answered, tears flooded my eyes. I told him I loved him, no matter what. But, I said, homosexuality is a sin. "You're not alone, Tim. I'm here and Jesus is too. God loves you. Remember Romans 8:38-39? Nothing can separate you from God's love in Christ Jesus. But you must renounce this lifestyle." Tim sobbed, unable to speak. After a few moments I said, "I'll call you tomorrow. I love you, Tim." Sorrow filled my heart as I hung up. Over the next few weeks, we talked on the phone or through letters. I needed answers. "Tim, why? Was it the war? Did something happen over there? Or when you were little?" Eventually, he opened up. "Remember the older boy in my third grade class? The bully?" Tim said. "Well, he cornered me one day after school--" his voice broke. "After that, he told everyone I was a fag. Nobody wanted to be around me." He told me of a couple more childhood incidents when older boys had threatened or bribed him into cooperating with their sexual indulgences. Then came another shock. "Did I ever tell you about the time Dad took me to a gay community in Massachusetts right before I joined the Marines?" The phone turned to lead in my hand. "No," I whispered. "It was a business trip. When the business was done, that's where we went, to a town on Cape Cod. It's a gay community." He paused. "Well, maybe you didn't know. You guys weren't divorced yet, but Dad had moved out." read further her: http://www.christianitytoday.com/tcw/1997/novdec/7w6046.html Jesus died for all of our sins. No exception. If homosexuality is a sin, must be disappear in Jesus. If it is a sickness, must be healed by the stripes of Jesus. If it is a curse, it is broken (after you have repented). Reading the article, above, it looks more a curse to me. Claiming that no having cure from homosexuality seems to me a very dangerous statement. Something against faith and the word of God. Please, tell me if I'm wrong. |

| Charles Finney stated, "God is not angry merely against the sin abstracted from the sinner, but against the sinner himself. Some persons have labored hard to set up this ridiculous and absurd abstraction, and would fain make it appear that God is angry at sin, yet not at the sinner. He hates the theft, but loves the thief. He abhors adultery, but is pleased with the adulterer. Now this is supreme nonsense. The sin has no moral character apart from the sinner. The act is nothing apart from the actor. The very thing that God hates and disapproves is not the mere event--the thing done in distinction from the doer; but it is the doer himself. It grieves and displeases Him that a rational moral agent, under His government, should array himself against his own God and Father, against all that is right and just in the universe. This is the thing that offends God. The sinner himself is the direct and the only object of his anger. So the Bible shows. God is angry with the wicked [Psalm 7:11], not with the abstract sin. If the wicked turn not, God will whet His sword--He has bent His bow and made it ready--not to shoot at the sin, but the sinner--the wicked man who has done the abominable thing. This is the only doctrine of either the Bible or of common sense on this subject" (The Guilt of Sin). http://christiananswers.net/evangelism/beliefs/homosexuals.html |

| The only way
to overcome a sinful nature, including homosexuality, is by the
power of Jesus Christ. Only Jesus can cleanse a heart of sin and
then empower the believer to live strong in Him. If you are reading
this and struggling with homosexuality or any other life-controlling
sin, you need to know that Jesus loves you and desires for you to
turn to Him. Simply admit your sinful state: "For all have sinned
and fall short of the glory of God" (Rom. 3:23). "If we confess our
sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse
us from all unrighteousness" (1 Jn. 1:9). Then accept the free gift
of God's grace, offered to all who believe and call on His name:
"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he
gave the right to become children of God" (Jn. 1:12). http://www.raptureme.com/faq/faq184.html |

| Tennessee closes down Christian ex-gay
camp for treating mental illness without a license The Tennessee state Department of Mental Health has ordered the closing of two Ex-gay ministries operated by Love In Action International Inc., a controversial Christian group that counsels gays to give up homosexuality. The state deemed that Love in Action was "providing housing, meals and personal care for mentally ill patients without a license". In particular, the state found that Love in Action was dispensing medication to patients without the required license. Love in Action has repeatedly drawn fire from gay rights groups who view it as preying upon the fears of religious parents in order to make Christian ministers like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson seem more acceptable to the uninformed public. Gay rights advocates view such bootcamp style Ex-Gay camps as "tantamount to child abuse". Love In Action is viewed as the first modern Ex-Gay group. Its co-founder John Evans, who abandoned the ministry, feels that it has led to "nothing but shattered lives, depression, and even suicide" and suggests that "The Church has been wrong in the past regarding moral issues and I\u2019m sure there will be more before Christ returns." The American Psychological Association and the American Psychiatric Association strongly affirm that "homosexuality is not an illness", "does not require treatment" and "is not changeable." They feel that "gay men and lesbians who have accepted their sexual orientation positively are better adjusted than those who have not done so," and warn that people seeking conversion therapy may be doing so under pressure from religious groups. The American public is evenly divided on the question of whether homosexual orientation can be changed, according to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life....... http://en.wikinews.org/ |

| Responding to Pro-Gay Theology by Joe Dallas Joe Dallas, founder of Genesis Counseling This three-part series will address the pro-gay theology by dividing its arguments--or tenets--into three categories: social justice arguments, general religious arguments, and scriptural arguments. A brief description of these arguments will be provided, followed by a response/rebuttal to each. Social Justice Arguments General Religious Arguments Scriptural Arguments (Expanded Table of Contents) Major denominations ordaining homosexuals, priests and clergy presiding over same-sex weddings, sanctuaries invaded by boisterous gay activists, debates over homosexuality ripping congregations apart-who would have guessed we would ever reach such a point in church history? A vigorous debate between Christians and homosexuals shouldn't be surprising in and of itself. If author and commentator Dr. Dennis Praeger is right when he says the Judeo-Christian ethic is responsible for the Western World's disapproval of homosexuality,[1] then conflicts between the Church and the gay rights movement are not only understandable, they are inevitable. (While acceptance of homosexuality in ancient cultures is well documented,[2] the past 2000 years of Western thought have, by and large, rejected it,[3] and the influence of both Old and New Testaments can be credited for that.)[4] What is surprising, though, is the current trend in which these ethics are not only being challenged, but rewritten as well, most notably in the form of the pro-gay theology. The pro-gay theology is much like the broader gay rights philosophy, in that it seeks legitimization (not just tolerance) of homosexuality. Gay spokesmen have made no secret of this as being their goal in secular culture; activist Jeff Levi put it plainly to the National Press Club during the 1987 Gay Rights March on Washington:......... http://www.leaderu.com/jhs/dallas.html |

| . | Is there anytime in the Bible when God
allowed a homosexual relationship? The Bible begins with God's outline for marriage and family. He starts that way because it is very important to Him. It is through a proper understanding of the marriage covenant and family unity that we have a glimpse of God's love for us and the covenant He made with us. The Bible very clearly defines what is allowed between a man and a woman and also what is disallowed between members of the same sex. "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable" (Lev. 18:22 and 20:13). First Corinthians 6:9-11 says that people practicing homosexuality will not inherit the kingdom of God unless they are cleansed through Christ. http://www.raptureme.com/faq/faq204.html |

| Homosexuality, like all other
types of fornication, has no place in the family of God. Regardless
of what modern promoters of "gay liberation" might wish to believe,
sexual perversions are not inherited genetically but rather are
learned behaviors and willful sins. Like alcoholism and other such
sins of the flesh, they may become very difficult to give up for
those who have been enslaved by them, but God is able to give
deliverance to any who sincerely desire true freedom and salvation.
To "straight" Christians in the church, however, the familiar old admonition to "hate the sin, but love the sinner" surely applies in such cases. Homosexuals, long accustomed to being looked upon with disgust by most people, are understandably anxious for acceptance by society. Nevertheless, they must not be encouraged to continue in their wickedness, for it may well cost them their eternal souls. Instead, they need to be "loved into the kingdom," being delivered first of all from their rebellion against God, then to Christ for salvation and cleansing. http://christiananswers.net/q-eden/edn-f019.html |

| ROBERT
(BOB) STEPHENSON'S EX-GAY CHRISTIAN I, personally, never experienced discrimination until I left gay life. The discrimination I encountered from the religious "Christian" community on my journey out of gay life was at first devastating. Then in a way strengthening, as I then dug into the Scriptures and came face to face with a God of love and compassion who showed me the way to true freedom in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In my mind, the bigotry and discrimination demonstrated by the religious "Christian" community in this nation is a travesty that belies the love and compassion taught in Scripture and demonstrated by the life of my Lord Jesus Christ. http://www.aineotheos.org/ |

| In
truth, homosexuality is only one of many sins that humans commit. It
does not matter whether our particular \u201cproblem area\u201d is
homosexuality, or adultery, or fornication (sex outside of
marriage), or hatred, or murder, or fits of rage, or lying, or
deceit, or witchcraft, or idolatry. The bible teaches any sin
will separate us from God. It matters not what sin got us there, sin
is sin and we still become lost. For a more complete look at what
the bible calls sin.. http://www.bebaptized.org/homosexuality.htm |

| homosexual humbug The trouble with compromise is that it all too often pleases no-one and sounds both hypocritical and bizarre. Behind all the hullabaloo about gay priests and even possibly gay bishops, people have perhaps missed the fact that the C of E began compromising on this issue many years ago. It is quite simply untenable to allow one thing for 'ordinary' members of the church and another for its leaders. The church must jump one way or the other. Cultural relevance or biblical absolutes- they simply can't have it both ways! http://www.adrian.warnock.info/2003/08/homosexual-humbug.htm |

| Is God a homophob? The following is a small portion of an article which I found in the "West Michigan Christian" newspaper. The Supreme Court let stand a ruling that the City of San Francisco was within its rights to fire a human rights commissioner for making anti-homosexual remarks. The Court rejected an appeal by the Rev. Eugene Lumpkin, a Baptist pastor who was removed from the Human Rights Commission in 1993 after he told reporters that the Bible condemns homosexuality as a sin. "It's sad that people have AIDS and what have you, but it says right here in Scripture that the homosexual lifestyle is an abomination against God," Lumpkin told the San Francisco Chronicle. But the High Court refused to review a U.S. appeals court ruling which said that although Lumpkin is free to state his views, the First Amendment does not guarantee "job security when he preached homophobia while serving as a city official." http://www.behindthebadge.net/articles/a26.html |

| Jason, a 17-year-old senior in
Portland, Oregon, tells how he overcame his homosexuality. "As a
guy, I hated being attracted to other guys. All the guys I knew were
straight. I was lonely and discouraged. I was losing my battle. "I began exploring the gay scene, but I didn't feel comfortable there. Deep down inside, I wasn't searching for sex. I just wanted a friend. I desperately wanted someone who'd listen and care about me. I was confused and very lonely. "A cute guy would pass by, and I'd want to be close to him. This would lead me to begin fantasizing about having a relationship with a guy. At that point, fantasy was better than nothing. "Finally, I took a chance and went with my gut feeling. I wasn't born to suffer like this! I found help, and a powerful change came into my life! Slowly, the feelings that dragged-me around began to diminish. "By getting the help I needed, I was able to resolve my gay feelings. In other words, I gained control over my sexual and emotional desires. Over time, through the help of others who had overcome homosexuality, my gay attractions were less intense and less frequent. I was seeing light at the end of the tunnel.... http://www.findout.org/rp.html |

someone who thinks they might be gay or lesbian. Or maybe you're
even wondering about your own feelings. If that's how it is, we
understand. We've been there too. Some of us didn't want to take the path of gay identity and behaviour, so we chose a different path. Others of us did take up gay identity and behaviour, decided later that it wasn't what we wanted for our lives and left it. (Yes, we found that was possible for us.) | Ex-gay From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The ex-gay or exodus movement is a
controversial movement that consists of several
groups that seek to alter the
sexual orientation of homosexual or bisexual
individuals to a heterosexual orientation. Most of
these groups believe that all homosexual or bisexual
individuals should attempt to make this change,
because many of these groups regard such sexual
orientation as
immoral. Ex-gay groups believe this can be
acheived through
counseling,
prayer, and other techniques. The method in
general is called
reparative therapy. Most ex-gay organizations
extend this to include people who identify as
transgender, on the basis that they consider
such feelings or behaviour to be related to
homosexuality. The movement is primarily based in the
United States (though it exists in other
countries such as
Canada,
Sweden and the
United Kingdom), and is largely led by
evangelical and
fundamentalist
Christians (see also
Homosexuality and Christianity).The modern
ex-gay movement has been broadly condemned by nearly
all major psychological, psychiatric, and medical
associations. Today, these associations point to a
lack of scientific evidence suggesting that
homosexuals can change their orientation and argue
that homosexuals have no reason to do so aside from
societal pressure. They say repressing those
feelings would likely cause future psychological
damage.[1]
These assertions are vigorously disputed by those in
the ex-gay movement.Because of the differences of
opinion between modern medicine and Fundamentalist
Christianity's views on what homosexuality actually
is, establishing a dialogue between the two groups
is difficult at best...........
